Baa, baa, black sheep
Have you any wool
Yes sir, yes sir
Three bags full
One for the master
And one for the dame
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane
Baa, baa, baa, baa...
Baa, baa, black sheep
Have you any wool
Yes sir, yes sir
Three bags full
One for the master
And one for the dame
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, and the Alphabet Song all have the same melody based on the French song written in the 18th century, then made popular by Mozart.
Baa, Baa, Black Sheep was not actually about a black sheep that could talk and offer up its wool to a master, a dame, and a little boy. It was about the heavy wool tax in medieval England.
The rhyme was first printed in Tommy Thumb's Pretty Song Book, the oldest surviving collection of English language nursery rhymes, published c. 1744 with the lyrics very similar to those still used today.
The rhyme has often been raised in literature, television shows and movies. Interestingly,Baa Baa Black Sheep was the first song ever to be digitally saved and played on a computer.
