how to play spelling games
To start, click on the Spell it! text. There are ten words to spell. Each word has its picture. You can see these pictures on the right of the game board. Choose the picture of the word you want to practice.
Now you can see the big picture of the word and two sets of boxes. The set on the top shows the word, but each letter of the word is scrambled up! The yellow set is the place where you put the letters in the correct order.
Click on and drag the letters into the proper yellow boxes to correctly spell the word. Don't worry if you drag the letter into the wrong yellow box. Just try and try until you get the right place for it. Then try the next word to spell.
Our guessing games adapted from the traditional game of Hangman are a great way for ESL kids to learn, practise and improve their vocabulary and spelling skills online. Below you will find some tips and ideas on how to play these games, plus links to all of them.
how to play guessing games
To start, click on the Guess the mystery word text. The word to guess is represented by a row of yellow boxes (one box for one letter) at the top of the game board. In the middle of the board there are ten things (balls or books, or something else, it depends on the game) that belong to the piglet.
At the bottom of the board you can see two rows of letters. Click on any letter that you think is in the word. If the mystery word has this letter, it appears in the proper yellow box. If you choose a letter that is not in the word, the piglet loses one thing.
Try to guess the word before our friend loses all the things. When you complete the word (no matter as a winner or loser, this activity is for fun), click on the Next word button to continue the game.
