English grammar for kids: numbers bingo games

how to play

This is a fun whole group listening game. Our Bingo is adapted from the game of bingo, and it is a very simple version of this game.

  • Give one Bingo! card and four markers to each player. Decide who will be a caller.
  • Kids choose four numbers, then cover them with their markers.
  • The caller calls out numbers for any of the boxes on the Bingo! card at random.
  • Kids uncover each of their chosen numbers that they hear the caller names.
  • The first person to uncover all his / her numbers calls Bingo!
  • He or she then becomes the caller and the game can be repeated.

preparation

  • Print out Bingo! cards. If you want, you can stick the printout onto the heavy paper. Laminate for future use.
  • Before the game, revise or pre-teach the vocabulary used in the activity.
  • You will need four markers for each player to play the game. If you would like to make your own paper markers, you can use our colourful templates.

ideas for classroom games

  • Depending on your needs and goals, you can use the playing cards to play different games such as memory, matching or guessing games.
  • You are welcome to add your own ideas. For some suggestions, check out our 22 Flashcards Games handbook (pdf).
